The lead was erased completely just three minutes later and soon after Kansas City went ahead. The Revs would tie the score briefly in the second half, before Eddie Johnson delivered his third goal of the day, ending the Revs seven game unbeaten streak and handing the Revs their first defeat since the season opener. Kansas City used their superior speed to slice through the Revolution defense and continue their recent dominance over Steve Nicol's team.
